Summer programs for 3- and 4-year-olds offer a playful and nurturing environment where young children can explore, create, and learn through hands-on activities. These programs focus on early development skills such as social interaction, communication, and problem-solving, all while engaging in fun activities like arts and crafts, music, nature exploration, and imaginative play. With a strong emphasis on curiosity and creativity, these programs are designed to help young children build confidence, develop friendships, and discover the joy of learning in a relaxed and supportive setting.
The 3-year-old summer program is thoughtfully designed and highly recommended for children who will be starting preschool in the fall but have not yet attended a formal program outside of the home.
Summer programs for Kindergarten and 1st graders provide a fun and nurturing environment where young children can explore, play, and learn. Through age-appropriate activities like arts and crafts, storytelling, nature exploration, and simple science projects, these programs help foster creativity, social skills, and a love for learning. With a focus on hands-on, playful experiences, children build confidence, develop friendships, and enjoy the magic of discovery. These programs are designed to balance structured learning with plenty of free play, making it an exciting and joyful summer adventure for early learners.
Middle Schoolers are welcome to join the 4th and 5th graders for our off-campus adventures! During weeks 1 and 8, campers will enjoy Carter Basketball Camp. This co-ed program will teach the fundamentals of basketball to beginners, and challenge those with more experience! During weeks 2, 3, 5, and 7, we will venture off campus and explore different sites around Harford and Baltimore Counties. Weeks 4 and 6 will mimic the rest of the camp themes of Holidays and Around the World with some fun and age-appropriate activities.
You do not have to attend HDS or gain admission to take advantage of the summer programs.
Summer Programs registration and school admissions are separate processes. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration and will be applied to your final summer balance.
