Welcome Connections Lead to Learning

From the moment Harford Day preschool students arrive at school, the teachers are mindful of making connections with them, giving them a voice, and allowing them to see themselves in the books and artwork around the classroom. These connections are woven into the day and grow over time, fostering a sense of belonging and agency, whether on the playground or in music, art, Spanish, library, or physical education classes. Our nurturing and highly qualified teachers instill empathy through active engagement with every child. Through intentional planning, consistency, and individual attention, our youngest students are building a foundation for future success.

The Harford Day Difference Preschool to Grade 8: A Proven Model

Growing up in a Preschool to Grade 8 school community provides a child with the continuity, security, and loving support that allows them to blossom with self-confidence, character, and life skills that go beyond academic learning. Beginning a Harford Day School education in Preschool is a gift your child and family will treasure—the memories, friendships, and learning become the cornerstone for later success.

Our Learning Spaces A Preschool Designed with Young Learners in Mind

The Preschool enjoys a building of its own that was designed with young children in mind. A spacious common room is used for gatherings, classes, and family events. Class gatherings build a sense of community and celebrate citizenship and cultures around the world, and the school tradition of class plays begins in K-Prep. For recess, students have their own outdoor play area with equipment appropriate to their age and stage of development. Students have a minimum of two recesses daily, and the common area accommodates vigorous indoor play during inclement weather.

Our Campus Not One Classroom: A 12 Acre Campus!

Taking advantage of our entire 12-acre campus, Preschool students enjoy enriched learning opportunities in specialized facilities with expert teachers for Spanish, physical education, art, music, and introductory media studies.
