Harford Day School is the oldest Preschool through Eighth Grade School in Harford County, accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland-DC Schools (AIMS), and a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The Early Childhood, Extended Day and Summer Programs are further licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and rated through Maryland Excels.

Maryland EXCELS is the state’s quality rating and improvement system for early childhood and school-age programs, recognizing licensed providers who meet high national standards.

For private schools providing school-age child care, EXCELS certification demonstrates commitment to excellence, enhancing credibility with families and differentiating your program. Participants gain access to technical assistance, peer support, and training via the Maryland EXCELS Toolkit.
