Dragon Leader

For students entering 9th-12th grades, working with 1st-5th graders.
Dragon Leaders will learn responsibility while participating in service learning activities focusing on character building, responsibility, and leadership. Under the teacher’s supervision, DL’s will assist with children age 3-entering Kindergarten, or entering 1st-5th grades, help teachers with activity set-up and breakdown, be role models for the younger children, and engage/participate as needed. Lessons learned as a DL at Summer smARTS at Harford Day are valuable tools for future academic, personal, and professional endeavors. Choose the weeks with themes that are most interesting to you. All DL’s will be issued a letter detailing their service learning hours at the end of each week. Participants are REQUIRED to attend one session of Babysitter’s Training at HDS before being accepted to this program. *Space is limited to two DL’s per age group, per week, no exceptions*
Regular Day: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm – NO CHARGE
*only Dragon Leaders with younger siblings (age 3 through 5th grade) enrolled in any Extended Day option may be on campus outside of the regular day hours.

Babysitter’s Training
All participants in the Dragon Trainer and Dragon Leader programs must attend one session of Babysitter’s Training at Harford Day School. This program is offered one Saturday a month from 10am-3pm for $125 per student.
