Summer 2026 Back to the Basics
Summer camp in the 80s and 90s was pure, unplugged magic—days spent swimming, hiking, and crafting popsicle-stick “treasures,” and nights filled with ghost stories, s’mores, and whispered cabin adventures. Friendship bracelets were traded like gold, boom boxes played everything from “Footloose” to “MMMBop,” and campers danced without a care. Harford Day campers don't need a DeLorean to experience a time of real connection, filled with simple joys and memories that prove the best summers never needed Wi-Fi.

1975-1983

1975-1983 A Fresh Educational Approach

Robert Sarkisian, the school’s second Head, brought energy and new educational approaches during his tenure. Esther Bennett, who had been the fifth-grade teacher, followed him from 1979, continuing to improve the curriculum. Under her leadership, the pre-kindergarten program was started, an addition to the main building was completed, and French teacher Andree Leath led the first European trip.
