Middle School Productions

Show Choir

The Middle School students at Harford Day School are given the opportunity to perform with the Show Choir. Participation in this group is through audition only. Auditions are held in September for the fall and holiday performances; and in January for the spring performances. There are currently 33 members in the Show Choir.

Fall Drama

Each year, two student-written plays (written during the previous school year) are performed for the entire student body in an Assembly; and for the parents/friends at an evening performance. Participation is through audition for the actors and interviews for all other positions in the production. The Middle School students also act as the stage crew, tech crew and assistant scenery painters (with adult supervision) for these plays.

Middle School Musical

Each year the entire middle school population is invited to audition for a role in the annual musical. Usually between 55 and 65% of the middle school students participate in some form - actors, dancers, stage crew or tech crew. For the past few years, we have even used a student director to be the assistant to the faculty director. In past years, we have performed such musicals as Aladdin, Fiddler on the Roof, The King and I, Beauty and the Beast, Oklahoma, The Little Mermaid, and Peter Pan.
