Harford Day School's Board of Trustees meets annually in January to set tuition for the following academic year. In making its decision, the Board diligently considers tuition data for peer schools, compiled by both the Association of Independent Maryland & DC Schools (AIMS) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).

Some schools charge many fees throughout the school year. At Harford Day School we aim to have tuition and stated fees cover the majority of expenses for the academic year aside from school uniforms and incidental supplies.
This fee is for materials and softcover books which are kept by students.
Student Activity Fee
The Activity Fee covers the Thanksgiving Feast, Fiesta Carnival (Grades 1-3), Chinese New Year (Grades 4-8), School Wide End of Year Party, Cast Parties, 2 Teacher Appreciation Lunches-December and June, Teacher Gifts, and Parent Association seed money.
Extended Day (optional):
See Extended Day Contract for schedule of fees.
Most trips are covered by tuition. Parents are billed for overnight and some special day trips.
Option 1 – Single Payment
Those who pay tuition in full by June 1 receive a 1% discount on the balance due after the non-refundable enrollment deposit of $500 is applied.
Option 2 – Three Payments
45% of the balance is due by June 1; 30% is due by August 1; 25% is due by November 1. Enrollment deposit of $500 is non-refundable. The three payments are due to Higher Education Services (HES) by the above dates. The $45 annual processing fee and the monthly payments are payable to the third-party budgeting service, HES, for this plan.
Option 3 – Nine-Payment Plan
A $1,000 enrollment deposit is due to Harford Day School ($500 of which is non-refundable). Nine even monthly payments are due to Higher Education Services (HES) June 1 through February 1. The $65 annual processing fee and the monthly payments are payable to the outside tuition budgeting service, HES, the contractor for this payment plan.
Tuition does not include incidental school supplies, charges for books or school property lost or damaged through abuse or misuse, or student accident insurance.
